Jago is a traditional Punjabi ceremony where the bride's or groom's family gathers to celebrate the upcoming wedding, often alongside other festivities such as the Haldi Ceremony and the Mehndi Ceremony. The term 'Jago' means 'wake up,' symbolizing the energizing of the family in preparation for the wedding celebrations. During Jago, families dance and sing, sometimes forming a jago group, while carrying a decorated earthen pot lit with candles, adding to the vibrant atmosphere often enhanced by a Punjabi singer.
